The 2020 Salvation Army Toy Appeal, which has been supported through promotion on HG1 Radio, has been very successful despite everything else going on with regards to Covid, and has helped 307 children.
They would like to pass on their thanks to the generous people of our region for their kind donations which mean that children from families who are struggling this year will not go without a gift.
Due to the Pandemic the Appeal had to be carried out differently this year and there was a fear that there would not be enough presents donated but people have been very generous with their giving. The presents will now be sorted and distributed in time for Christmas Day.
A new sports pitch, built with the help of cash from Richmondshire District Council, is proving a hit with local sports groups. The 3G artificial turf facility at Richmond School is now home to the Town’s Football Club for coaching sessions of adults and children – and there are plans for a new six-a-side league to start in January.
