The lovely Market Town of Easingwold has been affected by the Covid pandemic like most other rural communities. Less people visiting has meant that our businesses have been put under some considerable pressure.

Many people do feel that much safer sitting out of doors at the moment and rather than just talk about it, our Town Council believed that Easingwold’s growing Café Culture could be boosted by hosting live music on Saturday afternoons, normally a quieter time of the week, in order to help its businesses.

During our September Saturday afternoons, both residents and visitors greatly enjoyed their food and drink in the sunshine while listening to talented Easingwold musician Gary Stewart, who performed his excellent set of well-known songs by Paul Simon & The Eagles, etc out in the open in Easingwold Market Square!

For Saturday afternoons in October, the Council has booked a number of other exciting performers based in the York area to entertain listeners (and indeed passers by !) on either of our two greens in the Town centre, both adjacent to great cafes and seating (between 12-2pm, weather permitting).

Why not plan to come into Easingwold on Saturdays this month and see for yourself – where else in North Yorkshire can you relax and listen to live music from professional musicians, free of charge and in such an attractive setting, while you enjoy a coffee or some lunch outdoors with a socially distanced friend – and then afterwards have a browse in our excellent independent businesses?

York Musicians performing this month include Dan Stewart, Charlotte Lynch and Ross Dransfield  – Come along and have a listen!
